Spoiler warning

This review may discuss plot details.

STORY 5/10 It's been a couple of weeks since I've read this manhwa and for the life of me I can't really tell you the plot off the top of my head other than the main premise. Now, that's not particularly a bad thing, a lot of these stories are driven by the characters and the chemistry between them and this is definitely one of those. In a rofan title, I could give or take a good or memorable plot. This one did not have that. So I'm giving it a 5/10 because I forgot about it. ART 8/10 The characters are distinct and expressive, enhancing thebanter between them that much more. It's a little simpler than what I usually see in these things but that's not always a bad thing. It did its job splendidly.

CHARACTERS 9/10
The female lead is thrust into a situation that she's not prepared for and she handles it with the best grace she can, and she is pleasantly surprised when the girl she was adopted to replace is a burst of country sunshine who has ZERO filter and is ride or die for her new sister. Their relationship is everything to me and this manhwa wouldn't work as well as it does if their relationship was any different. I was worried they would rely too much on the brother's seemingly reasonless disdain for their sister but thankfully they were shut down QUICK by both the new sister and their dad who had NO IDEA they were treating the FL like that.

Now...let's talk about the male lead. (it's spoiler time!!!)

I love Shaitan. I love silly whimsical-yet-kinda-mean-in-a-cute-way mage boys and he captured my heart with his wit, charm, and general silliness. I don't love that he was the crown prince. Those should have been two separate men and I saw it coming the SECOND he appeared at the ball. And his power was so convoluted in a way that felt like they had drawn both versions of him and realized they didn't want twin male leads so they had to come up with SOMETHING on the fly.

Final score: 7.3 - I had a good time reading it despite its flaws. Characters are engaging and fun and they were the element that kept me reading til the end.
