Review of BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense.
I picked this anime up on the grounds that it looked like a cute slice of life. I was not wrong. What I was wrong on was how enjoyable, silly, and absolutely amazing it could be at times. I'm not the biggest gamer but when it comes to WoW I dare you find anyone more loyal to the Horde. XD So watching them set up their guild and make friends (and enemies), and have each others back. That itself made me happy. But watching Maple's antics...man, that made the show for me! Usually I would find it annoying for someone to get so OP,but somehow it just makes me smile. The way this ditzy, wonderful girl stumbles upon these dungeons and events, and how initially through sheer defense she gets through them. And as the show goes on and more powers add up the mere silliness of how OP she has become.
If your more into an anime with game themes that involves more struggle, this will not be for you. Characters absolutely do struggle in this anime, and Maple finds herself in scraps from time to time.
But it isn't the adventure anime your looking for.
(Also her turtle is called Syrup. You're welcome <3)
