Review of Parasyte: The Maxim

I didn't want to write a review but while I gotta wait for my nails polish to dry I might as well write the review. So, this anime is a rather "old" one, and by that I mean an anime from the early 2010s which a lot of people have already watched before me. This anime was a rather popular one from when I started watching anime and for "older weebs" this anime was watched ages ago. This anime has been in my plan to watch list for the LONGEST time until I decided to give it a go 6 years after its release. ThereforeI had already seen tons of other anime which have made my interest hard to catch due to me seeing a lot of different anime with different stories and characters. because of that, I found the anime rather bland. The story is good, it really shows how someone could feel while having this parasite inside of them.

So, what I'm trying to say is that if you are someone who've watched tons of anime then you will find similarities to other anime and therefore this one will not catch your interest. Is this anime one of my favorites? No, the plot wasn't really all that unique, the characters really childish for being highschoolers and the character development was close to none. Is it still worth watching? Yes. Ironically for my rather negative review I still think this anime is worth watching, at least for "newer" weebs, and for us a bit "older", I still think it's a good anime to have finished as it is a "must-have-watched-anime". However, if you're against just spending time on anime you might not enjoy then don't because the story isn't something you have not seen before.
