Review of Pop Team Epic

I like Pop Team Epic. I think it's funny. You might not, and that's okay. What you and I think is good anime is subjective anyway. - This series is made up of short skits starring two schoolgirls with attitude, Popuko and Pipimi. The humor is about 50% pop culture references and 50% general absurdity, and often you'll be unable to tell which are which as some of the references are quite niche. Each episode is 11 minutes but broadcast twice with different voice actors for the two girls (a set of male and female voice actors for each episode). Every episode has one longer bit, several short sketches,and often a short musical number. There are parodies of other anime, manga, video games, Hollywood films, and anything else imaginable.

"Anime Robot Chicken" is not an entirely unfounded comparison. This is something that you will either watch and cringe, or that you will watch and devour. And that's okay.
