Review of The Ancient Magus' Bride

People are being way too hard on this anime! It was so serene and lovely. The art style was so beautiful, and it was amazing seeing two messed up characters learn to grow together. At times, the world building was slow moving and it made the show feel like slice of life but i loved that!! It showed how the world worked and then when it felt good and ready, it dived deep into the dark and gritty side of this story. The characters were actually each very complex and multi-dimensional, the setting was beautifully mind blowing, and the story was gripping. Magical and beautifulyet dark and bittersweet. I feel like it is best to go into this series with no expectations. I loved it!
