Review of Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel - II. Lost Butterfly
At first, I thought this route of fate could have been my favorite out of the three laid out, but oh boy how disappointed I have become with the development of it. I mainly think that my lack of liking to this route is because it strays a lot from what the previous paths before it had established, many characters jump to new goals and ideals that feel out of place. The story drives itself in a manner that I really disliked, having a slow pace at times without really getting anywhere and the twists present within the movie are predictable as well as bland. Theart and music of the movie are, of course, it's saving grace with Ufotable's usual hard work and love put into the projects they do.
In short, I think this sequel fails due to the story it has to work with, without a doubt I feel this is the most boring out of the three fate/stay night paths (That's saying something when we take into account the 2006 anime adaptation of the first path) and the only real aspects of the movie I liked were the fight scenes and the work put into the project by the studio. Everything else from story to characters was really underwhelming becoming easily overshadowed by the second and more superior path Fate/stay night UBW.
