Review of The Fruit of Grisaia

Here's the long and short of it. The visual novel "The Fruit of Grisaia" is one of the longest Visual Novels ever written, and as such spends a lot of time building each character and their background, forcing you to get to know each of the characters and sympathize with them. On that note, I have read the VN, and have watched the series, and I can't help but ask, why? Why did they compress it into 13 episodes? Overall, the anime variation is a watered down version of the VN, so in the end, I'd suggest, before judging "The Fruit of Grisaia" based onthis, read it.
TL:DR, Read it, don't watch it. Watch it for a nostalgia trip if you read the novels (though the Yumiko arc in the anime genuinely drove me nuts as they twisted it so far from it's original source.)
