Review of Please Put Them On, Takamine-san

Well...This is an anime allright.Please put them on,Takamine-san is an ecchi show. That's the main selling point. Even if it's got a 18+ rating there's still some censoring,something that is... wierd to say the least. Now, before i get into the critcism, i have to give credit where credit is due,unlike most recent anime the gimmick in this one isn't underused nor forgotten. It stays along in the journey throughout the entire show. And the art itself is really good . Now..... That's about it for the praise.Now comes the bad. And it's plenty.The characters. Takamine herself is quite an infuriating and annoying person. The moveshe pulled in the first episode..... The accusations are ... just no man. But even after all that, i can't fully blame her...SOMEHOW. But what i can blame is her taste in men. She picked the biggest chump on the face of planet Earth. A spineless coward and a cheap plot device.An insult to ecchi/harem protags everywhere,and a perfect example of malicious incompetence. And the reason i can't fully hate Takamine. Because after seeing this guy roam the planet i'd consider myself a deity as well.

The signs he recieved to make a move would be understood by lobotomized cave dwellers. His lack of action drags all the ecchi down ,and honest to god it wasn't that great to begin with. Because all the fanservice feels heavy-handed and unimaginative 90% of the time. The only good parts happend near the end,climaxing in the haunted house. I've seen plenty of ecchi shows deliver so much better fanservice without any 18+ nudity rating for all that bare skin.

Not to mention ... it's just not enough . Alot of the runtime is wasted on school stuff, talk about future, exams and whatever else. Not to mention they pad the runtime with that ability activation animation almost every time she uses it.The main selling point of the anime is supposed to be fanservice. Lots of it,and unapologetic. And while the art itself is quite good, the animation isn't. It's stiff and doesn't compliment any of the ecchi scenes.

You could do better. Rewatch some of the old ones,i personally recommend the best everywhere,DxD. But you could certainly watch far worse then this.
