Review of Vermeil in Gold

Overall this is a highly generic show with uninteresting story and a little bit of ecchiness. (Mostly kissing) This show doesn't deserve anyone's time and effort in any possible ways. Firstly if you wanna enjoy some good fantasy with an interesting story line and well-written characters, Vermeil fails horribly at both of them. Its story is nothing unique just a secretly op magic student summoning a demon servant, then they defeat bad guys who are doing bad things for usual reasons like bullying the other students because of their ego, wanting to get stronger or destroying the earth. Classic anime villain stereotypes. Events are far frominteresting and extremely cliche. So much so that you can predict almost everything before it happens. If we look at the worldbuilding and how magic system works, nothing really said besides 1 or 2 things but when fighting our mc uses same 1 skill for the entire show. If we look at the characters, 90% of them is just cardboard 1 sided ordinary anime cast. Maybe we can say that mc and vermeil have a little bit of depth in their characters but again its nothing unique just a couple of sad and ''romantic'' scenes and ''I will protect you'' statements.

Secondly if you wanna watch an ecchi show, this anime doesn't really have that much of explicit stuff besides a lot off kissing(90% percent), women standing naked(most of the body covered), one out of context underwear shot and 1 or 2 lewd face of Vermeil. (Come to think of it maybe i watched too much hentai this is seems like a normal ecchi show) But this anime is such a waste of time that watching a 2 episodes of random hentai would be much more efficient.

Lastly if you wanna watch a trashy show that will make you laugh because of how shitty it is, this is not that kind of show either. It's just that everything Vermeil does is either mediocre or simply bad. It's boring.

Positives about the show
-Vermeil's backstory was okay, nothing outstanding but ok.
-Art and animation are ok.
-Ecchi scenes are ok.
-OP is classic happy female singer anime song, if you like it you might like this one too.

Conclusion (3.5/10)
Vermeil in Gold is not the worst thing you can watch. But even its best moments it fails to go further than mediocre and again it's so generic. This show is a waste of time.
