Review of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc
"Demon Slayer is carried by Ufotable". This statement cannot be any more true to me and for many others. Tanjiro is just a sympathetic, gotta get shit done tho kinda protag, Inosuke is just the wildcard, and Zenitsu might as well have yearly collabs with Pampers and Huggies because that's his demographic and it would sell like hot cakes. I care about the world and lore of DS as much as Nisekoi's. When the show is building tension and dialogues happen, I like to close my eyes and sleep as long as I can. That's why I only watch this show when it is almost doneevery season so far.
While literally everything about the show that should make it good is so offensively boring, the fight scenes are just pure bliss. You let yourself be immersed by the animation and sound and it's just so beautiful. This is what Ufotable has been working towards all these years of making great and underwhelming Fate franchise series.
When the fight takes place and you just spectate, the simple narratives of the show can really be emotional. The most bare minimum, basic societal emotion baits can make me cry such as sibling bonds (not tanjro and nezuko, their bond is purely for plot reasons. "wake up, your other sibling needs you... youre not done yet right? i know youre not! the other one that's not unconcsious really needs you right now! hax on!) please stop using this.
But yeah, also it's nice to have many of my favorite VAs having even minor roles. Especially those who do not get roles in seasonal anime that are actually good. I miss them so much and this is the closest I get to hear their voices that season.
