My New Devil Wife · review
Now now, i'm trying to be as fair as possible with the score. Keep in mind, the enjoyment is high. I highly recommend for a quick, wholesome read. Considering there's only 10 chapters out currently. -- Story: (3/10) The story isn't anything special, Shota-kun (Theo) was tragedically abandon by his parents at a young age, the age where you wouldn't recall a thing as you were too young. Fortunately for him, an elderly couple picked him up and he revered them similar to a parental figure, as he considered them his grandparents. But sadly, they both died. Aged 12, Theo realized to survive in this world, oneneeds power. Also, this is set in a fantasy world (like Konosuba), but! Theo isn't the strongest, hence why he wants power (lol). So he worked helping mercenaries by carrying baggage and whatnot, as again, he isn't the strongest. So fast forward, he's now 14 and looking into this magic stuff. Sees a summoning ritual for the devil in many books, and we should know what he wants. Power! Upon mentally preparing himself for this, well, he didn't. He didn't even know what the devil was. But, he then took it upon himself to summon this demon. Now, the wish you've been waiting for, with the devil's mesmerizing beauty, he wishes for her to marry him! Completely unexpected for the ones who haven't read the name of this manga! But, we see the newly-wed life of these two, and man. It's great and wholesome. Fun to read. Though, you can see almost all of what I explained literally just in the first few pages. But it's a mix of episodic and sometimes loosely consistent chapters. If you wanna see where it goes, read the manga man! But there isn't any overarching story that's building up or anything, just a mix bagged of goodies really
-- Art: (6.5-7/10)
For the art, it's good. Not on the level of Vagabond, Berserk, One Punch Man, but good to the point where you might stop and think, man this is some pretty decent art. To me, it isn't just good enough to the point where you're just only satisfied with the work, but good enough to the point where you might take a second and appreciate the work every now and then. Very satisfactory work. No complaints.
-- Characters: (5/10)
The most frequently shown characters, (Helvi, Theo, and the receptionists), all have their own unique and fun personalities. But, if you're looking for deep, thought-provoking characters, wrong manga bro. The characters, to be blunt, aren't deep or anything of the sort. However, they're absolutely are fun and enjoyable, and I am wanting to see much more of them. However, to say they're even decently written would be an overstatement. They're a fair set of characters objectively speaking, nothing is absolutely amazing or going great for them. But if we have similar teste, they'd be heavily enjoyable these set of characters. Again, unfortunately not good though.
-- Enjoyment: (8.5-9/10)
I was scrolling on Twitter and saw a few panels of this, posted by a friend, man, I don't regret asking because I had such a fun read with this, unfortunately, chapters aren't too frequent, which is a shame. But y'know, it's fine.. as long as we get a chapter every now and then. But I can assure you, if you like wholesome and cute, you'll absolutely enjoy the fuck outta this as did I. Worth the read, and I thoroughly enjoyed all the chapters which are out. Only like one chapter I didn't enjoy as much, but it was still enjoyable. Maybe as it goes on, I won't enjoy it as much. But I can only speak for right now.
-- Overall: (6.5-7/10)
There isn't anything about this manga that is so deep, thought-provoking, or really anything for this to get a score of atleast an 8. But the characters are fun and the enjoyment factor is high, high enough to get a 7/10 from me, for now atleast. Is this a surefire manga you're bound to enjoy? Who knows. All up to personal preference. But for now, I recommend this considering the fun read.
Hope you enjoyed the review and founded it helpful, hope it wasn't too long. Have a good day! -- on a side note, this was a quick drift. if u think some parts need to be rewritten/fixed, lmk. ty
