Wolf's Rain · review
A beautifully drawn and written story that sadly feels very fast paced, and not in a good way. The story leaps from point to point, especially in the second volume, and you are left feeling like if they had a third this would have been much better paced. Characterisation is bare bones, you could basically sum up each character in one word and not lose much nuance, and the plot line is simple. But there's still something about Wolf's Rain that draws you in, makes you want to know more about these characters. There's an anime for Wolf's Rain that got 26 episodes. I doubt you could get26 episodes from the 11 chapters of the manga, so perhaps that's where the extra plot and characterisation can be found.
It's a good read don't get me wrong, but you finish it feeling decidedly unfulfilled, and there's something sad about that.
