Review of Whisper of the Heart
Ah, young love. I suppose I'm technically still young enough to experience it, but here I am, writing a review about a movie about young love rather than experiencing it. Yay for me. This movie is just really nice. It's kind of odd that I can both relate to Shizuku (for being an aspiring writer), and to Seiji (for wondering if he can be good enough to achieve his dream), but whatever. I like both of their characters. The story is simple and doesn't follow a traditional path of storytelling (as expected from a Studio Ghibli film), and it definitely works out in the favour ofWhisper of the Heart. The animation, as always, is beautiful and packed full of detail in every single frame. All the voices are perfect fits for their characters, and I enjoyed the dialogue as well.
This is a movie that inspires me to want to take a bold step forward in achieving my dreams, and to not be afraid of the failures of starting at the beginning.
