A Dog of Flanders: My Patrasche · review
This was as great, even a bit better than the 70s original. It's a crime there isn't any decent complete version of this out there, more people need to see this, as this is a certified 90s classic. The low video quality, no subs, and hard to find episodes which I had to watch in Tagalog dub, certainly harmed the experience. The basic story was the same as in the original, but this took many deviations and had many differences. Some changed characters, partly different story, and how they focused more or less on other elements and characters. Compared to the 70s version, this had betterart/animation, music, voice acting, and the story made more sense and was more cohesive. But in the 70s version, the dog looked and acted better, and I liked Grandpa was a lot more involved in the story, rather than just laying in the bed most of the time like he was here.
This is a must-watch for anyone who likes drama and/or classic anime. An emotional rollercoaster that'll pull your heartstrings. The only problem is how you can find and watch this, which is a huge bummer.
