It is a comedy anime, and Gintama is one of its best. Seeing Japanese humor emerge in the manner that it has in this anime has been quite entertaining. Even when things are awful, they are still wonderful. Having said that, this specific arc is exceptionally spectacular in its own right. Without delving into specifics, it is clear that the anime at this stage has a significant work ahead of it in terms of tying together the stories of several characters while also providing progress for each individual character. The effort is not insignificant, and the anime's shortcomings are shown by the fact that itmay get bloated from time to time.
In general, the Arc is an excellent movie. It seems strange to me since I've become used to the program not taking itself seriously for a long time. Everyone receives a speech titled "awesome moment." The ridiculousness of each character receiving one of these opportunities is itself a comedy, if you think about it.
