I found the beginning very slow until the wedding reception, where the secrets, the action, and what happens to Ran drive the entire film. I really liked the dramatic part: Kogoro-san doing everything possible for his daughter, the same for Erii, and Sonoko's energy for her best friend. The Detective League isn't entirely to my liking in this film. The introduction of characters and the mystery surrounding the case becomes a bit heavy and difficult to follow if you're not paying close attention. It also connects with Ran and her memories, while Conan uncovers the truth. The villain has good plans, and I think he'sone of those characters you don't expect. The animation of the amusement park (based on a real one in Spain) near the end adds a touch of tension and contrast to what the protagonists are experiencing. The character development is excellent, and I know Meitantei Conan movies are usually about the same length, but this one should have been longer with more drama.
