Review of Trigun
TRIGUN IS A MUST WATCH!!!!! The basic Synopsis is that there's this outlaw on another planet inhabited by humans named Vash The Stampede, who has a bounty for 60000000000$$ (60 billion double dollars), and is nicknamed "The Human Typhoon", and it's up to 2 employees of an insurance Company, Meryl Stryfe, the more serious of the duo, and Milly Thompson, who's less serious, as she gets told off by Meryl sometimes, and who is also tall. They're job is to follow vash around and report the damages he does, but it turns out Vash is a pacifist, and a lovable idiot, nothing like they expected, butthat doesn't change the fact that he's a extremely skilled Gun man. Throughout the series, Vash gets into trouble in a sort of Villain of the day format, where he fights villains with a combination of Gunmanship, combat, and wits. Along the way, we get more of his backstory, and what his real mission is, but I won't tell you so you can find out on your own.
pros:
Trigun has some pretty good world building of Gunsmoke, the planet the series takes place on, it's a gigantic desert planet with towns and modern like cities. It's a unique setting for an anime/manga that I haven't really seen before besides Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Stardust Crusaders.
I think the humor is pretty funny at times, mostly relying on slapstick, and exaggerated Facial expressions and movement (Mainly from Vash)
The story knows when to be serious, and when to be humorous
The actions scenes are good and unique. Since basically everyone has a gun in Trigun (hence the word gun in the title), the fight scenes usually come down to a game of wits, where the Vash has to try and outsmart the opponent.
cons (None of these really brought the anime at all in my opinion, but you should still read it):
This probably only applies to the anime since I haven't read the manga yet and I heard the anime made some changes, but some things aren't really explained that well. For example, some villains have supernatural like powers, like making and using puppets, being literal giants, etc. but they're never explained in the anime.
Most settings don't have much variety, it's mostly just dessert towns, or just dessert with the occasional unique setting.
This one isn't really a con, but if you want a faithful adaptation of the trigun manga, You're out of luck. the anime excludes some manga characters, or has some original characters. It also mixes around events in the story.
Overall, it's a classic, but great anime that you should watch. Despite having some downsides, I feel like It doesn't detract from the anime at all. It's a must watch.
