Review of Tokyo Revengers

I believe the story is pretty good. Not the most insane stuff you'll see but pretty interesting and worth your time if you choose to invest yourself to it. I say invest because the first couple episodes don't really hype anyone too much but can be little more intense than the last the more you know the story. Story: Takemichi, the main character (MC), goes back in time where he used to roll with a high-school biker gang to save his past girlfriend from getting murdered. Animation: It's alright. Pretty sharp looking animation but it lacks in some quality where it had potential. Such as fights. Fightingis nice but doesn't have any unique swings to them. People win fights through power like punching someone so hard it cracks walls or swinging your legs hard enough to make people fly. There's no style or technique. I know that can be said with any action anime in general but it gets tiring to see for the 1000th time with no logical reasoning to it. Maybe I'm thinking to hard on it. However, I will say that I love the character design. For something made in 2021 it's nice to relate to characters (by look) to modern standards.

Sound: It's what you'd expect, does the job.

Character: I believe what's so degrading of the show is that the all the characters BUT the main character is great. Side characters are great and feel like they belong in their environment but Takemichi doesn't do justice to the setting he's placed. He's a crybaby (but good hearted) person which is nice but doesn't seem like someone to hang around gangs and someone who gangsters respect. Takemichi ends up in high places slightly through character development and mostly because he was at the right place at the wrong time.

Overall: Luckily the writing for the story makes up a good plot with one event triggering another unknown, random event that intensifies the series bit by bit. Wouldn't mind another season to continue.
