My Sister Momoko · review
A good portrayal of the struggles of a handicapped child, good portrayal of children as a whole. Well paced, well directed, most importantly: Well acted. The main heroine is basically a shonen protagonist in a little girls body, she's full of spirit and guts. So much fire in such a frail vessel. Like other movies with a disability theme there are characters that give the mc a hard time, but realistically come to terms in their own way with accepting or turning away from such differences. As far as anime movies go involving disability, this is one of the better films, it's not too lengthy, it'snot self-indulgent in it's material, it doesn't waste your time.
Neat, bittersweet little movie.
