Review of Sword Art Online

For those on the fence wondering whether to watch it or not, I would say give it a try at least for the first few episodes. The first episode is somewhat misleading by giving us a a brilliant introduction into the world and characters that inhabit it. Unfortunately the series falls off a cliff and never reaches the highs it should have had. I liked the soundtrack some of the opening and closing themes were quite catchy and the animation looks pretty good as well. These are unfortunately the only enjoyable aspects. The characters are so dull and lifeless. Even the remotely interesting ones are cast asidewhen Kirito is done with them. Relegated to the background. It hurts the show when the only reason for characters to exist are to fawn over the MC. Kirito is a God amongst men.

For those looking for time to kill and not looking for something serious I would recommend. The show is half decent when you no longer look at them as people but as comedy about stupid people doing stupid things in a virtual world.
