fucking hell I’m so mentally exhausted because of this show. When I first started watching it, I thought it was gonna be like any average anime with the mecha formula, Giant robots fights, futuristic setting, etc. but this show isn’t like the average mecha anime. Not gonna lie, for an anime that had lots of production problems, the animation was really great in my opinion, especially during the battles between the EVAs and angels. The music was also great, Cruel angel’s thesis is one of the best anime openings of all time and the OST by Shirō Sagisu really sets the mood of the show. The story’snarrative that’s centred around on fear, trauma, and the fragile need for connection, was great and very well delivered, and it made the characters feel relatable and Complexe.

the characters in this show were great and interesting, Like Shinji ikari, the reluctant and overwhelmed protagonist who is forced into a role he never asked for by a father who barely acknowledges him, Rei ayanami, the quiet and enigmatic character that embodies mystery while keeping the world at arm's length, Asuka Langley, who projects strength and pride, yet behind her fiery exterior lies crushing loneliness, and so many other well written characters like Misato, Ritsuko Akagi, and gendo ikari. One by one, each character’s facades collapse as the story unfolds, leaving only raw vulnerability and emotions to the characters.

In conclusion, Neon Genesis Evangelion is a masterpiece that deeply explores themes such as human psychology, trauma, loneliness, depression, and the struggle for identity and connection in a way That I have never seen any show or anime do before.
