Review of Gintama

[My first review] Gintama is a show i thought i would never enjoy. After seeing the first few episodes i was convinced the show just wasn't for me, but I'm glad that i was dead wrong. Gintama has a MASSIVE cast of characters that are slowly introduced from the beginning. At first you won't feel much for these characters, but then a story arc comes along where they are the focus and then suddenly you fall in love with them. All the characters are interesting and have an underlying backstory. Part of the reason why Gintama works so well is its brilliant mix of comedy and seriousness. Whilesome jokes might go over your head due to the cultural barrier, for the most part you will be smiling like an idiot, i sure was. However, soon after the laughs a certain song might play, characters might fight each other and you might find yourself trying not to cry.

Gintama constantly does whatever it wants to do and in doing that it filled me with a happiness that i had not felt while watching a show in a long time.
