Review of Redline
"Redline is overrated, the characters and story aren't even that good!!!" SHUT UP YOU NERD, THIS IS THE MOST BADASS SHIT I'VE EVER WATCHED IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Think wacky races, but on crack. That's Redline. If I was to make a list of the coolest things ever created, Redline would be towards the top of the list. This is the peak of action movies. If you somehow didn't get any enjoyment out of this, you probably don't like fun.If you showed Redline to someone from the 1800s, I think they'd probably drop dead due to how colorful and flashy this movie is.
The animation can come off a little janky sometimes, but the style is so wonderful that it can be ignored. The world, the characters, the vehicles, and the weapons were all beautifully crafted by the animators. It's one of the most distinctive and special styles that I've ever seen in an anime.
The sound was great as well. This isn't something I usually care all that much about, but the sound effects were fantastic.
The cars sounded awesome, along with all of the weapons. I could only find the movie in dub, which made me a little hesitant since I hadn't watched a dub in a while, but it was surprisingly good. All of the voice actors were impressive, the best being Frisbee's.
The music was good, too. The themes for characters such as MachineHead are so goofily cool, that I feel like I'm going to remember them for a long time.
Obviously I'm not being all that critical in this review, at least compared to most of my other reviews, but I don't think I need to be. I don't think it's possible to dislike this movie.
The small flaws that the film does have are so minor that they don't deserve to get mentioned here.
You will not regret watching this. It's the coolest movie that I have watched in quite some time, and I mean that in the most pure and childlike way possible.
