Fate zero .. one of the best animes i've ever seen. Personally i enjoyed this anime a lot but i will try to be as objective as possible. This review is for the both seasons. This anime is a prequel of both routes Fate/stay night and Fate/stay night unlimited blade works .. there are a lot of opinions about the order of the shows .. some say you must start with fate zero, others say you must start with Fate stay night .. well it's up to you. My opinion? It's basically the same. If you like to know the future, to know what isgoing to happen, then watch Fate stay night first. If you like twists and knowing nothing about the story, start with Fate zero.

The only goal of fate zero is to represent the journey behind fate stay night and fate ubw. And then .. well it happens that came out to be even better than it's sequels.. yeah that is kinda fucked up .. especially Fate stay night, it acts like a little brother who is "carried" by fate zero.. regardless all of that, fate zero by it self is not able to make a full show, because it does not have a end so it needs those little brothers.

Story: 9/10. It is nothing HUGE, but for 24 eps it's quite damn good. The pace is outstanding. Each episode they develop the plot, it is not forgotten throughout the entire show like we see in other animes that only focus the characters after presenting the plot. In fact, the plot changes the characters decisions and not the other way around, which is something nice and makes it look more "real". Plus, for the epic motive of the war (i mean it's the fucking sant graal .. it makes every wish come true), this anime does well in terms representing the importance that Sant Graal have for each character (such thing does not happen in Fate stay night which deeply pissed me off). We have pacts, betrayals, honor codes, everything you can imagine which just makes the plot more realistic. Although, there are fucking ultra battles in the middle of the city and it seems that the civilians aren´t there at all... i mean saber can blow up an entire city with her power, but who cares .. they don´t conect quite well the plot with the rest of the world which for me it's the only thing bad with the plot.

Besides being original and creative, there are true facts behind it. Each servant is a real character that once existed. Of course they were changed a litle bit, but to something better xD.

Art: 10/10. Like fate ubw, this one excels in every single frame. This one of those shows that makes us realize how important the animation is for the anime. It just looks everything look nicer. The detail is astonishing at all levels. We have a mixed of colours, between bright colours and darker ones depending on the situation. And the detail in the action just looks incredibly awesome.

Soud: 9/10. Both the openings are beautiful, but they don´t fit with the anime's theme in all of it's content. I mean the openings are nice for the drama on it, but it does not match up quite well with the plot. At least i felt that. Anyway every single episode i watched the openings until the end because they just look great.

About the OST, are pretty enjoyable also. I found them to be quite good, and they even fit with my style so.. it looks like the OST from SAO because the composer is the same... and it is quite repetitive but, i don´t mind if they repeat the same OST if it is good. And yes it is.. it match up with the action and with the drama.

Character: 9/10. 7 servants, 7 masters. This is like a mirror game. Each master is the oposite from his servant. One example, while Saber is a noble character, that follows the honor code, Emiya Kiritsugu does not care about those craps and follows a life of "the ends justify the means", if killing 100 people will save 200, well then he will kill 100 people. It happens the same with the other 6 masters. And this is quite good because when it comes about developing those 14 characters, we never lose the interest of it. Plus the supportive characters are not forgotten and even some of them were able to made some excellent drama.

Every character looks different, but still ... the depth at some characters is vastly weak... but for 24 eps long, well we kinda can forget that problem.

Enjoyment: 9/10. The first 2-3 episodes are boring. Especially the first episode which is 40 min long of speech. But after those episodes this show gets remarkable. If it wasn´t for this episodes, i would give it a 10/10 on this category.

Overall: 9/10. It is a masterpiece of animation and can bring to us a new experience about animes. It excels at every single point and that's why i belive it is a show that everyone should try. It is one of the few animes on my list that has my seal of approval :)
