Review of Fate/Zero

I really wanted to like this show. The OP was good, the animation was dope, the fights were decent. But it just felt like the show expected me to like and understand the characters so early on. I really wouldn't of understood who some of the servants had I not watched it with a fate veteran. Understanding who some of the servants were gave me some enjoyment because then i knew some of their backstory. The summoners really hurt me the most. As a GoT/ASOIaF fan I expected to enjoy getting to know the summoners and who they represent. Instead we got right into thefight for the holy grail, and while this introduced us to the servants early on it felt like the summoners got the shaft till s2.

It is probably obvious now that i started fate with fate/zero because of my complaints about the lack of backstory. Writing this review before watching more of fate because i think its kind of odd how highly held this series is when its is really difficult to get into.
