Review of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (2009)
This is my first time to write a review, please don't drag me... This review is about the "Endless Eight" (not the whole series) arc or the so-called repetitive ****... Story - Since it was repetitive, its somewhat boring in a way for those who don't understand the true meaning of the 8 episodes that had aired all over and over again. Despite of being redundant it still deserve a 7 for making us experience a "mini" psychological test. Art - I admit it, it was being repetitive. But notice their clothes, the panorama, Yuki's drink (at the cafe), etc. Every episode has their "unique" types and setsof clothes. Like what the others said "trying differently, though still the same".
Sound - Nothing special, though the OP's melody sure is catchy.
Character - The same old class, though Haruhi smiles more often unlike from the first series. Kyon is still a slacker, Koizumi always smile, Yuki with the boring look, and Mikuru with the big tits.
Overall - I somewhat "enjoyed" at the same time bored when watching the 8- long episodes of this arc. After I knew what really is the purpose of these redundant episodes I felt like "wow", the episodes centers not on Haruhi though she is the cause.
Endless Eight Arc JUSTIFICATION:
This arc centers on but not really expressed on Yuki rather than Haruhi. Her bored-look is the clue to everything. The director of the show "might" want us to experience of what Yuki had felt among the 15 thousand+ repeating moments. Though it gained really harsh feedbacks, for those who understand and coped up with the story realized how important this repeating arc to everyone. That is to feel the feelings of the characters inside the story an this is through mentally and unconsciously.
