Review of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (2009)
Hahaha. All the scores are 8! GET IT? I bet I'm the first to make this joke haha1!! Anyways, I loved Haruhi so the other arc needs no addressing. It's good. Characters being themselves as usual, whatever, it's a slice of life anime with some slight supernatural elements. Now, to Endless Eight. So. Do I think it's a masterpiece? Do I think it sucks all ass? Uh, neither. Now, I'm questioning myself why in the fuck I would watch 8 episodes of the same shit happening over and over again. That's why I didn't. I watched 5 and then I realized what was happening and began skimming throughthe remaining 3.
I respect Endless Eight. It really makes you feel what Yuki feels so I can respect it for that, but fucking hell, this is a bit too much. By the fifth time I already got the point. The only thing I was asking myself was "How the fuck did these animators not off themselves after animating the same scenes 8 times?"
Anyways, it's a necessary evil, I suppose. I respect the balls and the effort put into it, but at the same time I think it's a bit unnecessary and just questionable. It made me laugh, though, I imagine if people were watching as the episodes were coming out, it wouldn't have been so funny.
