This story was about loss, Three girls loose their father and mother (for two of them it was their step mother) and where going to be split up into different house holds Yuta was the girls step mother/mother's brother she took him in when she was younger and raised him after their parents die. So after loosing his sister he takes the girls in but he is a poor college student himself but he still makes ends meat for him and the girls with the help from others. This anime is about growing up. Learning the value of family. Having hope even when you loose everything else.
