It's simply awesome. It's a card game for sure, but nothing like you will ever imagine it to be. I don't know how to explain properly(yet). For me it was less about the game, and more about the things that made the game special. The card-readers(forgive me internet), when they read the cards, it's just awesome(one example of the many things). And the intensity throughout the anime makes you hold your breath many times. There is a story, the art is great, the character development is good, and the voices are just beautiful. Just watch it. You won't regret it.
