In short, Gintama is a good anime. But in long terms; it is fantastic, constantly engaging, filled with fun references, awesome jokes and a exemplary Gag anime which inspired atleast one person, which is me. I will look into the Gintama series based on the things listed below; *Directorate -Sunrise -Author *Humour -Jokes -Characters*Story
-World
-Characters
*Art(General)

And i will give general info about where this show is headed towards.

First lets start with the best thing that happened to this series; Sunrise:
Sunrise, also known as Bandai Namco Filmworks, is the core of this adaptation. They didnt dropped the series and because of that, we get a adaptation that is 400-ish episode long(360-ish) with a lot of collabs and a ton of spin-offs, movies and so on. In Gintama Season 4(Gintama°), they did fend of the series to their subsidarie company, Bandai Namco Pictures. But that did just improve the quality. It is insane how they didnt drop this series despite of the troubled production somewhere along the way but it doesnt matter. They are the Silver Soul of this adaptation, it is here because of their efforts. Thank You Sunrise.

Now the Author: Hideaki Sorachi.
It is insane, he didnt write anything other than Gintama as far as i know. He is greatly influenced with very serious things he does. And he is one of the best in referencing anothers works.

Humour is insane in this show. Well to be exact, there are humorus arcs and serious arcs, some are just morphs of the two. It is executed perfectly and makes me laugh most of the time. I can say with confidence you will probably laugh somewhere in this journey. Because of the goofy characters and hilarious writing of the characters, you form a bond.

But dont take this anime lightly. It knows how to hit like a truck. Some of the episodes made me cry harder than most of the media i consumed over my short life(yea yea i cry while watching anime). The characters feels alive and the author uses this to make them suffer just to make you feel something. It is insane how this anime turns from c&b jokes to Berserk(it is not berserk, not even near) like arcs in an instant.

And the world is just another thing. Author forgets about most of the things he implemented during the runtime but it is still relevant. The premise is unique as far as i can tell and it is soo interesting.

But in the first season, you need to sit through some 4:3 aspect ratio and clumsy animation, but it can get serious. It gradually improves through the seasons.

I started Gintama, somewhere between March 2023 and April 2023, because of a clip i saw on youtube of the scene in Gintama'(eps 231). It was a funny clip and i really enjoyed the thing so i started. But it was one of the most inspiring works i have seen. Now, this series is mostly comedy focused but as the story progresses, it will become less and less relevant. And the constant references arent constant anymore. I still think the first season is the best of Gintama. While the joke quality is Mostly stable in season one, it gradually decreases in my opinion, especially after Season 4. It just becomes more story focused. But it isnt bad it just doesnt feel like Gintama after some time. But this series has made me feel soo many emotions i am just going to recommend all of the Gintama but you should really watch all of the first season, atleast give it a good 40 episodes. I am going to finish this soon and probaby feel regret because i didnt take my time watching this masterpiece, or should i say: A masters only piece.
