I personally consider Black Lagoon my favorite anime. Black lagoon creates a world which i would love to submerse myself in, which even anime i consider to be "better" overall do not achieve. Through the character Rock( who is in essences ordinary as someone gets) we are introduced to a world of guns, terrorists, nazis and a whole other set of weird all taking place in Asia. There is no real plot rather we see the crew carrying out different missions with no connection. The situations the Black Lagoon crew get involved in are always bizarre and usually end in a gunfight. Although i usually find Gunfightsin anime quite lackluster, Black Lagoon absolutely nails it. Its the combination of excellent animation and sound that really help make this so damn entertaining, which in turn help make up for the weaker plot.

The characters range from either awesome or meh. Revy is one bad ass character, not only is she the main contributor to the awesome action which make this anime great but her dialogue (dub) just perfectly matches her character. I should add Balalaika the Head of a Russian crime syndicate, outshines Revy in terms of badass, intelligent and ruthless she adds the Substance Black Lagoon usually lacks in its stories.

Overall this anime is for those looking for something they can simply enjoy, and a must watch for those wanting too see awesome action.
