Review of Akira

This movie is worth watching, even if just for the animation. The amount of detail put into scenes animated on 1s puts modern anime to shame. The aesthetic is some of the best I've seen and the sound pulls it all together. However, be warned that if you want a more clear plot, read the manga. The movie takes the first and last volume of a six volume manga and grafts them together, making the plot kind of hard to follow. But nonetheless, you can still enjoy the amazing work on screen, even if you have no idea what the hell is going on.
