Review of Bakemonogatari

Bakemonogatari is the first segment of the Monogatari series, this show focus mostly on introducing and developing the characters who would later become recurrent in the series. The storyline of the show is divided on five arcs, which one focused on one of the female characters introduced. In these arcs, the main character, Araragi Koyomi solve a lot of sobrenatural problems, called "oddities", each one being unique, and somewhat a good representation of japanese myths. A good point I would like to call Monogatari for is their good explanation of all the sobrenatural events presented in the series, which are also valid for Bakemonogatari. Another relevant thing aboutBakemonogatari is how they develop the characters and set up previous or incoming events on the series. The major example of that would be the Tsubasa Cat arc, which helps setting up Hanekawa's character for Nekomonogatari:Kuro and Shiro.
As this show is mainly focused on dialogue, I would say that it isn't for people who are searching for an action show or are too impatient for story progress.
But, if you want to start watching the Monogatari series, I highly recommend you start for this show and have fun.
