Review of Fire Force

A fairly good battle shounen with beautiful art and very entertaining fights. The first ED is incredible, musically and visually. The score of the show itself isn't very memorable so it's hard to say whether that was any good. Story wise for the most part it is interesting, but some parts feel like they drag on a bit more than necessary. Some issues with the story are also due to the characters, a "comic relief" character ruining dramatic tension and the suspension of disbelief or seriousness of scenes. Also the last bit of the 2nd half tries to hit emotional beats that didn't really land for me, maybe it's justme, but they felt a bit forced.
Overall most of the characters are fairly likeable and alright, as a protagonist shinra isn't breaking into new territory in the shounen genre, but he's not stupid, thank the gods.
The character designs though are really cool imo.

What this show does well though, is the world building, setting it in a distinctly unique world that will remind people of shinsekai yori/attack on titan in some regards.

All in all this is a 6.5-7.0 for me, if you like shounen and battle, spectacular visuals and a cool world to explore.
