Review of My Girlfriend is Shobitch
"Boku no Kanojo ga Majimesugiru Sho-bitch na Ken" So.. what is it about? Ecchi? Romance? or.. does it also contain harem? Well.. fortunately or unfortunately, it contains all of that. But.. are those genres uncommon? Obviously no.. when those things come together, usually it's just another half-assed seasonal anime with the same old story line. In other words, the cancer of the anime and manga industry. With ecchi as a tag, I'm sure it is one of the only main attractions of this series. Kind of disappointing am I right? Who needs to watch this series that's so predictable and similar to most titles? Why shouldyou watch this? Well... ladies and gentlemen I will now tell you why I am one of the critiques who gave a higher rating for this series.
You see, people get the wrong idea about these types of series. There are viewers who overhype a new airing series and somehow get disappointed later on. People tend to forget that this was just a series that was made for the LoLs and they expect it to be something that will be new and unique. This is not a series that is supposed to be seriously taken into account. This is just a series that will soothe those viewers who can't get over after finishing a drama and use this to get a good laugh in order to take the sorrows away. You do not watch comic relief with a serious mindset... you let lose and let out great laughs.
Now for the main review.
The main selling point of this series is the comedy itself and I tell you that you will get great laughs even though the point of the jokes is always the same... misunderstanding. I can't count how many times I burst out laughing even if I was expecting the joke or event to happen. I can't really help it if the elements come together like that. The story, with all due respect, is all but cliche in every way. You may sometimes stop and think "God, this show is so stupid" but you will say that while bursting out laughing because that's how this show is. The artstyle, damn... even an average joe will realize that the art wasn't even given any much effort to. You can see how well drawn are the background characters and other miscellaneous objects. Especially that one guy who was all colored in green. So much effort put into making that guy. The sound... well.. atleast I can say it's decent considering an ecchi anime will have ecchi opening and ending themes.. I guess the studios took that into account. The characters.. one thing I can say is... What the f**k... every cliche ecchi-harem situation characters, the full set, you name it... this has it. With that overall, yes there's nothing unique about this show and even the jokes aren't really that new to me because this had a similar feel to Seitokai Yakuindomo which is another series similar to this, the only difference is the level of romance in this show. I forgot to mention that though this show is full of cancerous cliche s**t, atleast the Romance factor is well enough to be.... Exciting!!...
