Review of A Lull in the Sea
Nagi no Asukara is one of those anime which really stands out to me. Almost everything is driven from a unique perspective, which keeps this one refreshing. The story starts rather slow, and it needs a while to catch up in speed. It's one of the weaknesses of this anime. Once you get into it though, it gets really interesting, and it can definitely hit you in 'the feels' when it wants too. Ultimately it's about romance and sacrifice, with a high take on fantasy and some supernatural aspects which keep things interesting. The art and sound are outstanding and they really compliment the show very well. The openings are both great, and the first ending is probably my favourite ending off all time (Talking about the sound here).
Overall you should not let this one slide if you have a keen eye for slice of life, romance and drama. It is definitely an oddball, but that's what makes it worth a watch.
