Review of Villainess Level 99: I May Be the Hidden Boss but I'm Not the Demon Lord
Watchable and somewhat enjoyable. Typical otome isekai with typical overpowered tropes, it follows a feminine isekai structure even if there are some masculine isekai elements (unreasonable and OP main character, etc.). The main character is reincarnated in a game world as a hidden boss villainess, other characters will be hostile towards her until they suddenly change their minds as the story progresses. A slippery slope to be honest, softening the story in a lightning fast manner is just a symptom of a rushed adaptation. This brings me to the biggest problem of the series, the story starts at a normal pace but then it just skips years oftime just to get to end point of defeating the demon lord, an exponential rush of an otherwise averagely paced storytelling. The last two episodes especially are way too fast and bland.
Art is fine, average but still pleasant to see.
The OP/ED are actually pretty nice as far as "average isekai" goes, nothing too memorable but they could find their way to some playlists.
