Review of Tokyo Revengers
The animation, and not just the movement of figures, but their anatomy and shading feels amateurish in comparison to most anime out there, which I find frustrating. I know the industry is demanding, but it feels like these production companies don't take pride in their work. Takemichi is a pathetically faint-hearted protagonist. He's so inconsistently written. One moment he'll have the resolve to fight the world, the next he'll be standing, frozen in fear, whilst we get distracted by an internal monologue. That being said, the characters have interesting personas, and the broader plotline is engaging whenever Takemichi changes the world-line (can't help but quoteStein's Gate in this sub-genre). On that note, Stein's Gate obviously did it better.
