Samurai Champloo is certainly a consumate work of art. The three main characters are an unlikely bunch who seem just as likely to kill each other as to be each other's only allies in a hostile world. Samurai Champloo is a beautiful story about an unlikely alliance between 3 very different people. The show weaves music and history in to help keep the story solid and the episodes are usually 'seemingly' self-contained. What I mean by that is at the end of the episode there usually aren't cliff hanger or confusion about the immediate plot, but things that happen in the previous episodes come backto make a huge deal later in the show.

Certainly one of my favorites. Especially the music and the depictions of foreigners.

The story of friendship expressed is also really powerful.

Oh, and lest I forget, the action is superior.
