My first show was Nana and it felt like a masterpiece back then for me. Then I watched Paradise Kiss and it was beautiful albeit short. This particular show is also really enjoyable. Things I really liked about "Gokinjo Monogatari": 1) Lighthearted atmosphere mixed with good jokes and positive attitude. Characters interact with each other in a realistic way and their monologues aren't boring. Banter between friends is always funny and I found myself laughing a lot. 2) Outfits. I can see that the outfits are unique and inspired by 90s fashion. I loved looking at all the different outfits. 3) Character emotions depicted through different facialexpressions. My favorite ones are probably Yuusuke's.
4) Soundtrack played during romantic scenes. So beautiful.
Now onto the negative sides:
1) Mariko's development and her relationship with Yuusuke. Risa and P-chan's stories were sorta brushed off but these two took so much screen time that I feel like they could have a separate show just about them. 10 steps forward another 10 steps back. I should probably read manga afterwards to see how it ended for them.
2) Flashbacks. As i binged this show watching the flashbacks that I literally had seen 10 minutes wasn't that exciting. There are just way too many of them.
And that's probably it as for negative sides. I feel like I'm adding this show to one of my favorites based on how many positive emotions I experienced. 8/10.
