Spoiler warning

This review may discuss plot details.

A classic regression story with a “happy” ending, and the main character actually ends up in a relationship. However, the antagonist turns out to be a good guy who is a victim of the MC’s plot armor and misunderstanding. Ragnar is actually the victim of the story, and here’s why: In the first timeline, he grew up with his father favoritizing his brother far more than him, causing him to be more cold hearted than his siblings. Regardless of this though, he still worked hard to become smart and a capable leader, as he knew his brother would lead the nation to its downfall. Against all odds,he gained favor with the tower master and Ian, which eventually helped get him his rightful throne that he worked hard for. However, once he became ruler he was subject to manipulation by the alchemist and nobles, which caused him to kill his best friend.

In the second timeline, without the support of Ian he was forced to take more drastic measures to ensure the success of his kingdom; one not led by his brother. So he unfortunately turned to dark magic as he knew it was the only way to get the throne, yet since Ian never saw him getting manipulated behind the scenes, he vowed revenge on only Ragnar. All because he was trying to lead the kingdom as the only one capable enough to do so.
