Astro Royale · review
Well, I don't get why it is a 6 starts score since I really like it. At the beginning it didn't hook me, but chapters passed and now I find it really interesting. I don't relate it with Tokyo Revengers in my head and find stupid this idea; you can dislike the gang's theme, or the time travel one, but it doesn't mean all Wakui's works will have it. Astro Royale has nothing related with it and it's simply a Shonen with its battles and misteries. Characters are so endearing for me and I especially love Kinpa. Wakui's always been good with characters as I considerand he keeps being good at it, or even better. I should say I wasn't very convinced with character designs when I was about to start reading, today I still don't find them very stunning or different from the TR ones, but character personalities and dynamics make up for it. Also powers are very different from each other and are funny or interesting.
I could understand if the problem for you was Wakui's style of writing or something like this, but if it was the theme, I swear Astro Royale it's not like Tokyo Revengers. If it had a bad final it doesn't mind this series will have one, too. I recommend you to give it an opportunity without thinking that "it is from Tokyo Revenger's author". Samurai 8 was also Kishimoto's and went canceled.
