Virgin Knight: I Became the Frontier Lord in a World Ruled by Women · review

It started off with a premise I understood and five chapters later. I have no idea what I'm reading. The title suggests it's a virgin knight in a world for his picking. Instead we have a knight that's got all the bulk muscle and presence an innocent virgin boy could want in a world full of women who are dying to throw down with him. And nothing seems to be happening. There's a LOT of political succession talk. I'll be honestly I started to skim mostly because wanted to know where it was going. Turns out it's to more political succession talk. A fewrandom gender swapped predatory references and we're back where we started which is nowhere.

The appeal appears to be Bikini Armor but for women. Oh that doesn't make sense? Well neither does a knight in full regalia with a panty line but that's what the artist goes to great pains to show. There's also a lot of "oh we're all girls here" pulled straight from the fantasies of a teenage boy. Honestly this is the one time I'm confused there hasn't been a shower scene with girls grabbing each other's breast to remark on how large they are or are not.

The individual elements aren't bad. The art is fine. I'd read a political thriller. I'd read a gender-role swap tale that's more emotional than erotic. I'd read a mysterybox or whatever else is happening here. But not in this combination. It doesn't know what it wants to be so it just feels like stalling.
