Review of Akira

I didn't like this movie. Akira, at its time, was something else, but now in the present time, I can't see it holding up. The story was pretty hard to follow because of all of the attention to detail in the background. Based on other reviews, the scenery and background is something that makes Akira Akira, so for the movie to have such incredible scenery and then an indecipherable plot is a letdown. The soundtrack wasn't anything special, and I dreaded the characters. They all felt like they were there for no other reason than to cause trouble. Iparticularly remember one character to be rather annoying and inhumanly stupid and prideful. That really ruined it for me. I didn't enjoy this movie at all, but I can admire the impact it had at its time. I would not rewatch Akira.
