Review of Sword Art Online

The anime starts out strong, giving an interesting setting, but the whole series slowly start getting worse and worse, and just when you thought the series had hit the rock bottom they release the 2nd season. The Alfheim arc is especially bad, but it does have few brighter moments. The characters are quite simple, boring and dull, and I feel like none of them have that many unique things about them, they are quite normal shonen characters who do nothing but what the characters are required to do, the main character is just a simple, overpowered hero who happens to be able to climb over everyobstacle set in his way with relative ease.

The anime lacks any kind of deeper story or anything like that, while I can certainly see why it was popular on its release, it is in my opinion one of the most overrated animes and I am sure many would agree with me on this.

Other than the first opening and few episodes from the FIRST half of the FIRST season, it is quite bad.

I do still think, that SAO is something almost every anime fan should suffer through...once.
