Review of Fairy Tail

In this series, you just need to look beyond the normal shonen aspects you'd pick at and just enjoy the funky characters and just friendly atmosphere that this show gives out. Now I will say that I am a bit bias only because I found Fairy Tail during a very rough time in my life, and it was something that pushed me through. But with that aside, let's begin! Story: 3 (Poor) Alright so like I previously mentioned, in this kind of series, I feel that it is almost necessary to enjoy the fun characters and friendly atmosphere of the show as opposed to paying heavy attentionat its heavily cliched story. I won't go much into it in order to prevent spoilers but yeah, the story is definitely not the greatest by any means. A big problem that I have is the whole friendship power up nonsense however, it IS the central theme of the show and it makes it more emotional and all that stuff. Like I have stated twice already, look beyond the story in this series!

Art: 9 (Great)
Alright so I love the art of Fairy Tail like a lot, very vibrant and colorful, especially in the first 175 or so episodes of the series. Also the facial expressions are hilarious!

Sound: 9 (Great)
Have you heard the Fairy Tail main theme? That track is like the greatest! (IMO) I mean almost all the soundtracks in this show are simply impeccable. Oof, those emotional soundtracks get me every time! And even the openings are also, with the exception of a few (cough cough Opening 8 cough cough) are all so amazing in terms of music.

Character(s): 6 (Fair)
Alright, I love all the characters of this show (I mean the ones who actually get the spotlight, so that excludes people like Knab and that dancing dude), even Natsu. HOWEVER, you may be asking yourself "But Mr. Reviewer! Since you love ALL the characters in this show, then why is the score so low?" Well my friend, it can be summed up in two words: Character. Development. MINOR SPOILER WARNING:
Over the course of every Fairy Tail episode (1-277) Mr. Natsu Dragneel has not been given an OUNCE of character development. Now don't get me wrong, I love the guy. HOWEVER, after watching The King Lightning's video on Natsu, I looked back and realized all the missed opportunities Mashima (Fairy Tail creator) had in order to flesh out Natsu's character!
So that is why this category gets a big 6, because of you, NATSU!

Enjoyment: 10 (Outstanding)
Okay, this show is freaking hilarious! Like very funny. Next, if you like the main hero just beating up the bad guys senseless without real or practical explanation, then you have come to the right place! Natsu Dragneel, the deuteragonist of the series, is a mage of the infamous "Fairy Tail" guild who practices the ancient Fire Dragon Slayer Magic, previously used to slay dragons long ago. He's "that guy" who picks fights with like everyone and is a complete idiot, but serious when he needs to. His main trait IMO, is his incredible need to protect his nakama (friends). I especially like it when he is down, but gets back up because of the high stakes of their current situation. I won't go in depth with any other characters, but just know they are so awesome and some very unique.

Overall: 7 (Good)
Although Fairy Tail doesn't have the flawless story of Hunter x Hunter, nor does it have the incredibly fleshed out magic system of Naruto's chakra, what it DOES have is humor and enjoyment. An atmosphere that will make you feel like you are right there with Natsu and the gang. As always, it is up to you, person reading this, if you wanna watch it. :D
