Review of School Days
I can't believe I wasted precious hours of my life watching "School Days." This anime is an absolute disaster from start to finish. It's an insult to the genre, offering nothing but a chaotic mess of poorly executed storytelling, unlikable characters, and disturbing themes that left me feeling disturbed and disgusted. To begin with, the plot is an utter train wreck. It starts off as a typical high school romance, only to devolve into a convoluted and nonsensical series of events. The protagonist, Makoto, is nothing short of a spineless and indecisive moron. Instead of being an engaging character, he simply goes around playing with thefeelings of the female characters, which only serves to make him despicable and unrelatable.
The female characters aren't much better. They lack any real depth or development, merely existing to serve as plot devices for the protagonist's indecent escapades. These girls are portrayed as naive and gullible, which is both frustrating and insulting to female viewers. Watching them fall for Makoto's manipulative tactics is infuriating, and it sends a terrible message to audiences about relationships and consent.
Furthermore, the anime takes a dark and twisted turn that feels completely out of place and unnecessary. It tries to shock viewers with its controversial themes, but instead, it comes across as tasteless and gratuitous. The finale is just a bizarre spectacle of violence and insanity that offers no satisfying conclusion or meaningful resolution to the messy plot it created.
Animation and art are mediocre at best. The character designs lack creativity and are often inconsistent in quality. The backgrounds are dull and unremarkable, failing to add any depth to the already lackluster narrative. The music is forgettable and does nothing to elevate the poorly crafted scenes.
