I liked the anime a surprising amount. Given that it was an hour long tv special, they were probably very limited but it still could have used about 20 more min to show more of the selection process and the rebellion. It also ends sort of abruptly. That being said, the characters are all fun and everyone gets at least one scene to shine. I've seen 12 ep. shows with worse characters. On top of this you get like 4 Ghibli animators including one of the founding members on the project, your going to get some shockingly well animated moments, like the cannon getting shot downthe hallway.

Yeah, if you can find it, give it a watch
