SAO with guns? This isn't SAO!!! as the protagonist says many times... Starting this series, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Thankfully, it had almost nothing to do with SAO& you don’t need any knowledge from it. -The story felt really short and flat, with some key points making not much sense or effect on the viewer. It’s basically intro, battle 1, battle 2. -The characters were okay but I couldn’t really feel for them. They seemed childish and shallow, with very one-dimensional motivations. That wasn't exactly unreasonable though, as for them this was just a game to blow some steam. There were few moments I enjoyed, like P-chans spotlight moments and the some of the team’s reasons to play.

-The fights I really enjoyed though, direction, animation& tactics wise. Not mind blowing, but definitely pleasant to watch. Overall, it felt like watching a well-directed stream with some extras.

-The game mechanics weren’t analyzed a whole lot unless for moments where it serves the plot. What it did show of them is pretty good.

-Sound was also pleasant, enough for it to not be noticed in a negative way. Voice acting was good& music did a good job at setting the mood for each scene.

-The art was good, with the eyes looking slightly off in some shots, but that’s a minute detail.

Overall, its a good VR MMO RPG anime as a light watch without a heavy plot looming over through seasons. It has a beginning, ending& some good moments.
If that sounds good to you, give it a go!
