Review of Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online
Compared to Sword Art Online, SAO Alternative is an enjoyable watch. The characters are likeable, and it somehow made Gun Gale Online fun. So fun in fact that if the game were to exist in the real world I might want to play it. The side story also really hit home on how online connections work and how it's unsurprising for someone to have an avatar that strays away from who they are in real life. Sometimes you get to meet new friends, other times you may meet crazy people. Either way, the connections made could inspire people and hopefully change for the better. Construction-wise,they alleviated the exposition problem SAO tends to have and its plotlines made a lot of sense. The ending is a bit unexpected, but satisfying.
It's not the most groundbreaking show, but I enjoy it more than the main franchise.
